ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority has been named as one of six recipients of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s AQUARIUS award.
The award is being given for the project to bring clean drinking water to the Los Padillas neighborhood in Albuquerque’s South Valley. Completed in 2020, the project made clean municipal drinking water accessible to about 200 homes in the area. About 5.5 miles of water lines were installed in the area that was mostly served by shallow private wells.
