Based on the namesake manhwa/webtoon by Taejun Pak (writer) and Kim Junghyun (illustrator), Viral Hit is a martial arts anime series. The plot revolves around Kota Shimura/Hobin Yu, a young man struggling with bullying at school. He also has to deal with his mother’s rising medical bills. Things change when he becomes a viral sensation due to a public brawl. Kota Shimura/Hobin Yu realizes that he can change his family’s circumstances by streaming his fights. Viral Hit Season 2 does not have an official release date, but it will likely be announced in the future.
As of early May 2024, Okuruto Noboru hasn’t greenlit the sophomore season of the anime. However, given that anime seasons often spend years in development, this is not unusual. The original manhwa/webtoon is currently ongoing. So, even if Season 1 covers all eight volumes that have been published until now, the second season can happen, as long as the first season garners popularity.
The voice cast of Viral Hit includes Satoshi Niwa as Kota Shimura/Hobin Yu, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Toru Kaneko, and Fairouz Ai as Aki Yashio. The anime also features Yui Ishikawa as Kaho Asamiya and Shunsuke Takeuchi as Hamaken.
