Akshay Kumar’s latest movie, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, hit the theaters with a lot of buzz on Thursday. Since the film’s announcement, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has been in the headlines for its star-studded cast and never-seen-before action.

However, the initial box-office numbers have painted a picture that’s far from blockbuster. Despite the towering expectations, the film’s day-one collection can best be termed as lukewarm.

Recently, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan made a last-minute altercation with its release date. Just hours before its initially scheduled debut on April 10, 2024, the date was changed to April 11, 2024. Why the sudden change? The makers, since the beginning, had been aiming for an Eid release as it positioned the film for a blockbuster opening due to festivities and the weekend that followed.

However, despite such efforts, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan managed to amass $1.8 million net across all the languages in India on its opening day. Additionally, the film locked horns with Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan, which started its box-office journey with an equally underwhelming $851K collection, as per Sacnilk.

Interestingly, in terms of review, Maidaan has garnered favorable reviews, unlike BMCM, which seems to have not lived up to the expectations.

#BadeMiyanChoteMiyan lacks conviction in most departments. Slapstick humor, random explosions posed as exhilarating action & is absolutely devoid of an emotional impact or nationalistic fervour!

Akshay Kumar’s latest movie has been touted as an action-packed entertainer. The ensemble cast includes Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F, among others. The movie, produced by Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani, is made on an astounding budget, surpassing the $40 million mark.

Now, only time will tell if the movie’s box-office collection can match or surpass the budget it incurred. The upcoming weekend might provide much-needed solace to the lukewarm start to the recent release.
