What is Fear Street: Prom Queen about?

“Welcome back to Shadyside,” the official synopsis reads. “In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.”

The cast of Fear Street: Prom Queen includes India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Chris Klein, Ariana Greenblatt, Lili Taylor, and Katherine Waterson.

Based on R.L. Stine’s The Prom Queen, which was published in 1992, Fear Street: Prom Queen is directed by Matt Palmer. Palmer co-wrote the script with Donald McLeary. Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kori Adelson are producing the film.

Fear Street: Prom Queen will be the fourth movie in Netflix’s Fear Street horror franchise. Leigh Janiak directed the first three entries (Fear Street Part One: 1994, Fear Street Part Two: 1978, and Fear Street Part Three: 1666), all of which were released in July 2021. The main cast of Janiak’s movies included Kiana Madeira as Deena Jonson, Olivia Scott Welch as Samantha “Sam” Fraser, Benjamin Flores Jr. as Josh Johnson, Ashley Zukerman as Sheriff Nick Goode, and Gillian Jacobs as C. Berman.

Fear Street: Prom Queen does not yet have an official release date from Netflix.
