Hungarian Foreign Minister Visits Romania for the Magyars’ Day
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Péter Szijjartó, will go to Oradea on March 15 to celebrate, together with the UDMR, the Day of Magyars Everywhere, reports ebihoreanul.ro.
Szijjartó is invited by UDMR Bihor to the events prepared in Oradea to celebrate Hungarians’ Day. Mr. president Kelemen Hunor and Mr. Minister Szijjartó Péter will be in Oradea on Friday, where we expect between 3,000 and 5,000 participants”, said the executive president of UDMR Bihor, Szabó Ödön, for ebihoreanul.ro. The program of ceremonies will extend throughout the day of March 15. “The Hungarian community in our municipality celebrates every year, on March 15, the beginning of the revolution of 1848-1849”, UDMR Bihor also informed through a press release.
The program was established by the county branch of the party, together with traditional churches, youth organizations, cultural and educational institutions.
Also, the messages of the Prime Ministers of Romania and Hungary will be delivered and local personalities will give speeches and wreaths will be laid. As every year, the festivities will end with a torchlight march through the city center, which will be attended by several members of the local Hungarian community, according to the quoted media source.
