Lego ‘Last Supper’ coming to downtown Roswell

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – An attraction in downtown Roswell says it is about to take on its largest feat to date – recreating The Last Supper with Legos. Bricktown will begin assembling the piece over Labor Day weekend, with plans to put it on display in November.

Da Vinci’s original painting is 12 feet tall by 29 feet wide. The Lego one will be about a quarter of the size, but Bricktown says it will still take more than 175,000 to build it. Visitors will even be able to stop by to help assemble it.

“Very few of us are ever going to get the opportunity to actually go to Italy and see it in real life, but I think we were hoping to, using our medium which is Lego, to recreate that experience,” says owner and producer of Bricktown Jacob Roebuck.

Bricktown expects the project to take between 600 to 700 hours to complete.
