ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The man found guilty of killing an Albuquerque church security guard wants his first-degree murder conviction re-examined. Marc Ward is awaiting sentencing for running over Calvary Church guard Daniel Bourne in September 2022.

His attorney filed a motion to consider his decision to deny a directed verdict at trial saying there wasn’t enough evidence to prove deliberate intent which is a key element for first-degree murder. Judge David Murphy says he will make a ruling on the motion in the next 30 days. As a result, he pushed Ward’s sentencing hearing back to June.
