Wanted marked a significant milestone in Salman Khan’s career with his portrayal of IPS Rajveer Shekhawat, nicknamed Radhe in the film. Alongside co-star Ayesha Takia and under the direction of Prabhudeva, Khan’s performance elevated the film to a blockbuster status. Given its immense box office success, the clamor for a sequel has persisted over the years.
Addressing the anticipation surrounding Wanted 2, Boney Kapoor revealed, “Wanted, I’ve spoken to Salman. I don’t know when that will happen but he has committed to me that he’ll do it whenever I decide, whenever I get the right script.” This confirmation from the producer has ignited hope among fans eager to witness Salman Khan reprise his iconic role once more.
Furthermore, Kapoor revealed Salman Khan’s enthusiasm for the project. The producer said, “I told him, ‘I’m making Wanted, will you be a part of it?’ He said, ‘Yes.’” I have an idea, I will develop it. So, one day that will happen. I hope it happens sooner than later.”
In addition to the buzz surrounding Wanted 2, Boney Kapoor also hinted at other ventures in the pipeline. This includes discussions for a potential reboot of the 1987 film Mr India, possibly requiring collaboration with a prominent overseas studio. Currently, Kapoor is gearing up for his upcoming release, Maidaan, featuring Ajay Devgn. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is set to work with filmmaker AR Murugadoss and Vishnuvardhan’s The Bull.
