A 16-year-old boy was wounded overnight in a shooting on the Northwest Side, Chicago police said.
The boy was walking shortly before 9:45 p.m. in the 5700 block of North California Avenue when shots were fired, striking him to the body, police said.
He was dropped off by a friend at Swedish Covenant Hospital where he was listed in serious condition.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
