Cel puțin 12 polițiști au fost răniți, sâmbătă, 17 iunie, în urma unei manifestații împotriva unui proiect feroviar, relatează Reuters. Totodată, 50 de protestatari au fost și ei răniți, în urma confruntărilor.
Aproximativ 2.000 de protestatari, inclusiv un grup de aproximativ 300 de persoane îmbrăcate în negru, au protestat pe Valea Maurienne față de construcția unei legături feroviare între Lyon şi oraşul italian Torino.
Aceştia au aruncat cu pietre în poliţişti, care au răspuns cu gaze lacrimogene, iar un manifestant a fost rănit, a declarat prefectul local Francois Ravier, într-o conferinţă de presă.

O asociație care reprezintă manifestanții, Asociaţia Les Soulevements de la Terre, a transmis că numărul răniților în rândul protestatarilor este mai mare. 50 au fost răniți, iar 6 au avut nevoie de spitalizare.
Ministrul de interne Gerald Darmanin a transmis pe Twitter bilanţul răniţilor din poliţie. El afirmă că 12 poliţişti au fost răniţi.
În urma controalelor la frontieră au fost descoperite 400 de obiecte, precum cuţite şi ciocane, în timp ce 96 de persoane cunoscute de serviciile de securitate au fost trimise înapoi în Italia, au precizat oficialii.
Ce prevede proiectul contestat de oameni
Autoritățile franceze vor să construiască o cale ferată de mare viteză care să lege orașul Lyon, capitala regiunii franceze Auverge-Ron-Alpi, de orașul italian Torino. Calea ferată are o lungime de 57,5 kilometri și include și un tunel prin Alpi.
Proiectul este estimat la 26 miliarde de euro, o parte din fonduri fiind europene. Susținătorii afirmă că prin această construcție o să fie redus traficul rutier, ceea ce va reduce poluarea. Criticii afirmă însă că această construcție va avea un impact major asupra mediului, iar mai multe pârâuri din apropiere de locul construcției au început deja să sece.
