Universal Orlando Resort has set the opening date for its DreamWorks Land, while also announcing several other experiences set to come to the parks over the summer.
The highly anticipated new DreamWorks Land will open on June 14, 2024, at Universal Studios Florida. The new park will allow guests to explore the worlds of several iconic DreamWorks Animation franchises, including Shrek, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda.
The area will also feature interactive play areas, meet and greets, an indoor live show experience, unique food options, and other places to explore.
Other experiences include new parades, shows, and more
Alongside the news on DreamWorks Land, Universal also revealed a handful of new experiences coming to their parks over the summer. Up first, Universal Studios Florida will introduce Cinesational: A Symphonic Spectacular on June 14, 2024. This new nighttime show will “celebrate the emotional power of music” by using various iconic scores and scenes from past Universal films, including projects like the Harry Potter franchise, Jurassic World, Jaws, Shrek, Ghostbusters, Trolls, Back to the Future, Universal Monsters, Transformers, How to Train Your Dragon, E.T., Fast and Furious, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Minions, The Mummy, and King Kong.
Beginning on July 3, 2024, Universal Studios Florida will also debut the Universal Mega Movie Parade, a parade that will feature 13 new floats, nearly 100 performers, and special effects celebrating a variety of Universal’s most iconic projects.
A new Harry Potter experience is also in the works in the form of a new projection show that’s set to take place in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s Hogsmeade section. Debuting on June 14, the new projection show will be displayed on Hogwarts castle itself and aims to celebrate some of the most memorable moments in the world of Harry Potter.
