Eastern New Mexico University awarded over a more than $60,000 grant from NASA

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Eastern New Mexico University has been awarded a $60,855 grant from NASA in partnership with the WEX Foundation.

ENMU partnered with to foundation for their project, “New Worlds Await You-Next Generation.” The project features a network of in-school and after-school clubs focusing on STEM. The program targets at risk and underserved middle school students with the development of space-STEM curriculum.

ENMU says this will start a four-year NASA funded grant which will help with recruiting pre-service teachers and middle schools that will participate in the after school STEM program. “The collaboration will significantly enhance our efforts to train future teachers and engage area students in the STEM fields,” Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Jamie Laurenz said.
