I created my first startup to promote YOUR startup

Alright, it all started when one day I came up with an idea. I saw how many people have brilliant startup ideas, but hardly anyone knows where and how to promote them. I thought to myself, “Hey, what if I create a place where everyone can find the best sites to promote their startup? And for free!” That’s how the idea for spacehunt.io was born.

I started by defining the basic functionality. I wanted it to be simple: a user enters the site and has a list of places where they can promote their startup. But I didn’t want it to be just any list. It had to be something more – a domain authority indicator showing how effective the backlinks are.

Once I had in mind what exactly I wanted to do, it was time to make it happen. Being a fan of the open-source philosophy, I decided that the whole project would also be available on GitHub. This way, everyone could contribute – add a new site, suggest a feature, or even improve the code.

The code is available at: https://github.com/gpiechnik2/spacehunt

Programming, design, environment setup, deployment, and functionality check took me practically one night.

Spacehunt.io is more to me than just a project. It’s proof that even a small idea can make a big difference. And although it’s just the beginning of the adventure, I already know it was worth it. If you have a startup and are looking for a place to promote it – check out spacehunt.io. And if you want to help develop the project – visit our GitHub. Together, we can do something great.

The planned launch is scheduled for April 18, 2024. If you’re waiting with me, sign up for the waitlist available at https://spacehunt.io
