Masters of the Air’s Callum Turner has been cast in Apple TV+’s Neuromancer.

Per Deadline, Turner has officially joined the cast of Neuromancer, a new sci-fi series based on William Gibson’s novel that was published in 1984.

The series follows “a damaged, top-rung super-hacker named Case (Turner) who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high stakes crime with his partner Molly, a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes, aiming to pull a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets,” according to the official description.

Turner is best known for playing Major John Egan in Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air series. He’s also starred in movies such as 2015’s Green Room, 2016’s Assassin’s Creed, 2017’s The Only Living Boy in New York, 2020’s Emma, and, most recently, 2023’s The Boys in the Boat. Additionally, he played Theseus Scamander in both 2018’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and 2022’s Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

What else do we know about Neuromancer?

Neuromancer is co-created by Graham Roland, who also serves as showrunner, and JD Dillard, who directed the pilot episodes.

Roland and Dillard are also executive producing Neuromancer alongside Gibson, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television; Anonymous Content; Drake, Adel “Future” Nur, and Jason Shrier for DreamCrew Entertainment; and Zack Hayden. The series is co-produced by Skydance Television, Anonymous Content, and Apple Studios.

“We’re incredibly excited to be bringing this iconic property to Apple TV+,” Roland and Dillard said in a statement, via Variety, when the series was announced in February 2024. “Since we became friends nearly ten years ago, we’ve looked for something to team up on, so this collaboration marks a dream come true. Neuromancer has inspired so much of the science fiction that’s come after it and we’re looking forward to bringing television audiences into Gibson’s definitive ‘cyberpunk’ world.”

A premiere date for Neuromancer has not yet been announced.
